Summary: Drabble. Because of Chuck, Ned can't sleep.
At first, the sawed-in-half bed situation works out very well for Chuck and Ned. Chuck never tosses and turns in the middle of the night. Ned snores softly; Chuck finds this very cute, but she'll never tell him. Digbee lays down between the two beds, and Ned and Chuck have to avoid tripping over him in the mornings. The dog is a very sound sleeper, and Chuck wonders vaguely if Digbee has always been this way, or if it is a result of being "Alive Again" for so many years.
One night, just as Ned is about to fall asleep, he hears Chuck trashing and wiggling around in her bed. "Are you alright?" He whispers, opening his eyes with difficulty and trying to see her in the dark.
Chuck goes still. "I'm fine," she hisses back, "Just a little uncomfortable." There is a beat of silence, and then, "I'm trying to take off my bra. Do you mind?" He can practically hear her blush.
Ned is wide awake. "Um, no, that's fine. I'll, uh, turn towards the wall."
"Thanks."
Ned rolls over and faces away from Chuck, slapping a hand over his eyes for good measure. Chuck resists the urge to giggle as she slips off the offending garment and pulls her tee-shirt back over her head. Oh, Chuck, she thinks to herself, You are a cruel girl.
Across the room, Ned is thinking the same thing.
Comfy at last, Chuck whispers "Goodnight" and falls asleep immediately.
But the Pie Maker lies awake for a very, very long time.
FIN.
Just some fluff. Please review!
